2024 New Years Letter From the Founder

2024 New Years Letter from the Founder, Dan Perkins

Dear Partridge Creek Farm Supporters and Community,

Ten years ago, Partridge Creek Farm was formed in a backyard garden behind my home in Ishpeming. With the collaboration of many dedicated local citizens and staff we have become a major force in redefining the way we introduce our children to their relationship to food and how we provide healthy food to our community.

IN 2024 we are starting a 3.5-acre Intergenerational farm, initiating farm to School programming at all grade levels of the Ishpeming School District, and initiating a Career Technical Ag program at the Ishpeming High School in local resilient food production. The farm site will have a wash/pack facility for getting produce ready for the school cafeteria and CSA recipients, fields and Hoop houses built and operating this year. 2024 will be a very big year for Partridge Creek Farm.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Ishpeming Community and beyond who have found merit in this endeavor and who have come together to make it happen. We are doing a good thing and it shows. We are all better for this work, and we are providing something to our community to help it be healthy and happy. Thanks for joining us on this quest.
