Our Goal: $5000

Partridge Creek Farm was established in 2013 with one goal: Providing local food access and education to connect the community with their food and one another. Over 12 years PCF has had many milestones in developing free community education programming and developing a 3.5 acre farm to grow even more food for our community. We are rooted in Ishpeming and are staff is committed to connecting our community to fresh affordable produce and resources.

With the support of our community over 12 years we’ve:

  • Developed theCommunity Farm to increase food access in our community. In 2024 52% ofFarm Stand shoppers used food assistance benefits to purchase fresh food!

  • Secured theCommunity Garden in 2025 to secure food access for our 24 members. In 2026 we will increase our bed rentals to 31 members.

  • In 2024, through the Lake Michigan Food Systems Innovation Hub Grant, PCF was able to begin a partnership with Northwoods Test Kitchen, MSU UPREC, MARESA, and Chartwells Food Service to bring fresh PCF grown food to the Ishpeming Cafeteria.

In 2024, 5th-12th grade students ate fresh produce grown and harvested right here in Ishpeming during lunch.

This is important because 63.8% of Ishpeming Students receive free or reduced lunch. Through this partnership our youth can count on a nutritious meal during school.

  • Facilitated youth education programming to local youth. In 2025, over 100 youth will learn more about healthy eating and where their food comes from!

    These programs include:

    • Farm-to-School Program (5th-6th grade students)

    • Healthy Cooking Program (5th-6th grade students)

    • 5th Grade Farm Stand

    • Homeschool Hangout (all ages, partnership with the Ishpeming Library)

    • Garden Club (all ages)

    • High School CTE (Career Technical Education) Horticulture Class, Flipping the Food System

  • Led free community programming to increase knowledge in food access and healthy eating. In 2024-2025 112 community members attended a Workshop or Skill Share.

  • In 2024 PCF donated $980 worth of fresh produce to the Salvation Army in Ishpeming, feeding 188 local families.

Supporting our local food pantries means supporting families in our community.

According to United For ALICE 41% of our community is ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed)

This Giving Tuesday we are turning to you, our community, to help us invest in the foundational building block of our mission: Providing Food Access For You, our community. PCF is raising $5000 to increase food production and programming to serve and reach even more members of our community.
