Giving Tuesday 2026
This Giving Tuesday, help sustain the Partridge Creek Community Farm in downtown Ishpeming to continue feeding our community!
Our base goal: $5,000
Our goal is to set up a Community Farm Fund to; increase our growing team by hiring local students & workers, continue growing more food and cultivating the site, and start saving for infrastructure upgrades on the farm to store equipment and facilitate community programming.
Our Base Goal: $5,000
PCF is calling on our community to help raise $5,000 to hire students and local seasonal workers to grow and harvest more produce each year and start a seed fund to build future essential infrastructure to protect equipment and host community events. Each of these elements will enhance food access and education opportunities for our community.
Since the farm’s first growing season in 2024, the centrally located 3.75 acre Community Farm has become a hub for people of all ages. Throughout the season, community members come to the site to purchase fresh produce, participate in free farm tours and workshops, and youth participate in internship and educational opportunities at the farm with our staff. However, sustaining this vital resource requires significant staff capacity and an annual operating budget of $90,000 +, all essential for the Community Farm’s success.
PCF is deeply committed to enhancing food access and education in the Ishpeming community, which are core values in our mission. In Ishpeming, 43% of residents are ALICE (Asset Limited, Constrained, and Employed, meaning nearly half of our community struggles to afford fresh produce despite being employed. By offering access to affordable and fresh produce in a convenient location, PCF is determined to serve more of our community. Your support is crucial in the success of the Community Farm.
Who Our Food Feeds:
-
CSA (Community Support Agriculture) subscriptions are purchased before the growing season begins.
Our CSA Subscription Box runs from June - October and features 5-7 different produce types weekly. Snap/EBT members pay just $5 weekly.
46 local families were fed through the CSA Subscription in 2025.
95% of members reported that the CSA helped them eat healthier.
-
The West End Farm Stand is centrally located at the Partridge Creek Community Farm (550 Cleveland Ave) in downtown Ishpeming. The Farm Stand provides our community with fresh, accessible, and affordable produce from June-October.
We accept card, cash, Snap/EBT, Food as Medicine, Fresh Food Access, Senior Project Fresh, and WIC vouchers as payment.
In 2025, 48% of total Farm Stand sales were shoppers paying with food assistance benefits. This statistic shows the necessity for fresh produce at affordable pricing in our community.
-
Partridge Creek Farm believes in providing our community with fresh locally grown produce, which is why we work with local businesses primarily located on the West End of Marquette County.
A few of these businesses include: Velodrome, Strega Nonna, and Kognisjon Brewery.
-
Partridge Creek Farm is partnering with Chartwells Food Service Director, and Northwoods Test Kitchen to establish new lunch menus that allow for increased local food ingredients for the Ishpeming School District cafeterias.
This project was made possible through the collaborative Food Futures project through the Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub award.
-
In 2024 PCF launched a partnership with the Ishpeming Salvation Army, located just two blocks from the Community Farm, to distribute fresh, healthy produce to community members in need. As the only donor of fresh produce to their food pantry, which typically receives canned and dry goods, PCF has been able to fill a critical gap in providing nutritious food to our community.
In 2025, 300+ families were served fresh produce through the pantry.
In 2025, 250 lbs of produce was donated to the Ishpeming Salvation Army to feed the community. In 2026, over 200 families were served shelf stable food boxes at the Community Farm through a new collaborative effort to provide both local produce and shelf stable food items to our community in one accessible location.

While Partridge Creek Farm has received grants that have greatly helped us to make progress on the site, funds for these grants have begun to become uncertain. PCF has also been fortunate to receive many local grants from the Community Foundation of Marquette, the West End Health Foundation, and the Superior Health Foundation. We are grateful to have local support in helping the farm function.
The challenge with grants is that many are not unrestricted funds and require the completion of specific projects. When we were in a period of fast growth at the Farm this was a helpful model for us. But now, we are in a place where saving money in a farm fund could help us pay more staff to grow even more food and could allow us to save funds for infrastructure on the site.
For nonprofits, grants and donations go hand in hand in making the organization work. And when the organization works they can help their community to the best of their ability! -
