Partridge Creek Farm is thrilled to announce that the West End Health Foundation has awarded us a $2,387 grant to upgrade irrigation systems at our Community Farm. These improvements will directly support watering the produce grown for our community. More reliable systems means more produce can be grown successfully and can go to feed our community.

The West End Health Foundation provides grants to local organizations that expand opportunities and health resources for residents of Marquette County. We’re grateful for their support in helping us grow fresh, accessible food for our community.

This grant supports our organization’s mission to provide local food access and education to connect the community with their food and one another.

Why This Award Is Important

Ishpeming residents face significant food insecurity, with 62% of the population classified as ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained, Employed). This crisis spans generations, impacting everyone from our youth with over 80% of Ishpeming students qualifying for free or reduced lunch to our seniors, who make up 22% of the community. The Partridge Creek Community Farm serves as a vital production hub to meet this pressing need. Updated irrigation systems at the Community Farm will allow us to continue growing even more food for our community.
