Partridge Creek Farm Receives Hirvonen Foundation Award

Ishpeming High School Students at the Partridge Creek Community Farm

Ishpeming High School CTE (Career Technical Education) students help put plastic on the Hoophouse at the Community Farm.

Partridge Creek Farm is grateful to accept the Ray & Peg Hirvonen Foundation award. This award will support the continued expansion of the Partridge Creek Community Farm and Partridge Creek Ishpeming Middle School Garden sites. These valuable sites provide fresh produce for the Ishpeming community as well as education opportunities for Ishpeming’s youth.

This award will continue to empower the Ishpeming Community to master healthy habits through guaranteed access to fresh, healthy food.

Education & Produce

The Ishpeming Middle School Garden provides Ishpeming Public School District and local homeschool students with hands-on learning opportunities. Students learn about growing food and healthy eating.

The Partridge Creek Community Farm in downtown Ishpeming provides residents with access to fresh, local food within walking distance from their homes. Food grown at the Community Farm also feeds students in the Ishpeming Middle/High School Cafeteria and excess produce gets donated to the Ishpeming Salvation Army.

Building upon both of these programs broadens opportunities for our community to connect with fresh locally grown produce and one another.
