Community Foundation of Marquette Award Plays Important Role In Food Safety & Food Access at Partridge Creek Farm

PCF Seasonal Staff Member washes turnips in the produce wash & pack station at the Partridge Creek Community Farm.

In June of 2026, Partridge Creek Farm was awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of Marquette. These funds will support the purchase of a USDA food safety approved mini root-barrel washer, which will help our growing team wash root vegetables like carrots more efficiently.

Alongside this root-barrel washer, this award will also help PCF update our current produce wash and pack station to continue to streamline this process. Once properly washed, these vegetables will go to feed our community in a variety of different ways.
