Registration Is Now Open for the Free 2024 Farm to School Institute

June 18-20th in Ishpeming

Partridge Creek Farm (PCF), Marquette Alger RESA (MARESA), Michigan State University (MSU) Extension and Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, and 906 MISTEM Network are excited to announce registration is open for the second year of Farm to School Institute. This event is scheduled to take place from June 18th to June 20th in Ishpeming. This educational opportunity is free, and invites educators, food service directors, farmers/food producers, and community partners passionate about local food education to participate.

The Farm to School Institute is a professional development opportunity designed to equip attendees with the knowledge, resources, and strategies necessary to implement successful farm-to-school initiatives in their communities. Through engaging workshops, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities, participants will gain valuable insights into integrating local food into school meals, incorporating agriculture-based curriculum into classrooms, and fostering meaningful connections between students, food, and local producers.


“Registration for the 2024 Farm to School Institute marks the beginning of an enriching journey towards promoting sustainable food practices and fostering healthier communities," said Mary Antonia Andronis, Director of Programs and Partnerships at Partridge Creek Farm. "We encourage all educators, food service professionals, farmers, and community stakeholders passionate about farm-to-school initiatives to get involved."

Attendees are encouraged to share this invitation with colleagues, friends, and others who share an interest in advancing local food education. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Stipends and free SCECHs are available for teachers. Travel funding is also available.Together, we can cultivate a brighter, healthier future for our children and communities.
