Food Distribution Symposium | Intergenerational Farm Tour

Partridge Creek Farm Staff members attended the day long Food Distribution Symposium led by Michigan State University (MSU) Center for Regional Food Systems, MSU Product Center, hosted at Barrel and Beam in Marquette, MI. The objective of this conference was to tackle food distribution challenges in the Upper Peninsula.

Partridge Creek Farm is actively seeking innovative solutions to streamline our local food system. We're developing a small-scale community farm (Intergenerational Farm) to efficiently supply our community and local institutions with fresh food. These initiatives will help keep more dollars in rural areas, create local jobs, and provide healthy, locally grown food to those in need. The recent symposium offered our staff valuable opportunities to learn about these challenges and collaborate with experts and local farmers on potential solutions.

Food Distribution Symposium attendees from across the state of MI gathered at the Intergenerational Farm where they participated in a guided tour led by PCF Director Mary Antonia Andronis.

Participants explored the farm’s food cultivation process and learned how PCF feeds their community, local school districts, and facilitates donations and wholesale distribution.
