Partridge Creek Farm Celebrates 2025 Apple Crunch Day with Birchview Elementary School

Middle and Elementary aged students press apples into apple cider.

On Friday October 17th, PCF’s Education Coordinator Keats Dormont, joined by Ishpeming Middle School Farm-to-School 5th grade students celebrated Apple Crunch Day at Birchview Elementary.

Apple Crunch Day is a great way to celebrate the seasonal, local produce! It’s all about encouraging students to eat local, nutritious food. Each year, our Farm-to-School students join in the fun by enjoying apples, proving that eating local can be both nutritious and fun.

Apple Activities

Fun Activities for All Ages

During this celebration, elementary aged students pre-k to 4th grade participated in activities in the Birchview school garden that was built in part by PCF and volunteers in 2022. Elementary schoolers participated in a series of apple themed activities put on by 5th grade students. Activities included pressing apples into apple cider pictured above.

Local apples came from both Little Parsley Farm and a few were harvested locally in downtown Ishpeming by the Ishpeming School Garden Club!
