2025 Community Garden Update

On Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, PCF called on our community to help raise $5,000 to purchase the Community Garden site in downtown Ishpeming. Any funds raised above the goal would be utilized to make essential updates to the site. With the community’s support we were able to raise $10,848 to both purchase the Community Garden and make upgrades at the site.

All of these accomplishments were only made possible thanks to the support of our community! We simply could not do this work without you, thank you.

What We’ve Accomplished With YOUR Support

December 3rd 2024 | Giving Tuesday

On December 2nd 2024 we called on our community to help us purchase the Community Garden!

Our original campaign goal was $5000 to purchase the garden site for our 24 members. With your support we raised $10,848! This was such an exciting day for our staff and our community.

We were joined by Partridge Creek Compost. This celebration was made possible through a collaboration with Velodrome in both Marquette and Ishpeming. PCF is grateful for Velodrome’s support and donation to support our Community Garden!

August 2025 | Garden Update

There was a tremendous amount of work to be accomplished this summer by our growing team; as a result, it took four months to complete.

By August we were able to:

  • Plant an orchard on the Community Garden site

  • Lay a gravel pathway around the garden beds to increase site accessibility

  • Fill each of the new 7 beds with compost and topsoil

  • Planted free produce and flowers in the beds for our members during the 2025 season

The Future of the Community Garden

In 2026, PCF will now be able provide 7 new rental beds, allowing 32 community members to grow food for themselves and their families!

Essential upgrades to the site will continue, including the construction of a new fence and painting the old beds. In the following years we would like to add 12 more vego beds to this site and replace the FREE community grazing beds on the perimeter of the site.

PCF is grateful for our community’s continued support.
