We are pleased to invite our community a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in celebration of the new Ishpeming Public School District Career Technical Education greenhouse. This event will take place on Earth Day Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00PM in the Partridge Creek Ishpeming Middle School Garden, located at 402 Cleveland Ave, Ishpeming. Following the ceremony hosted by the Lake Superior Community Partnership, all attendees are welcome to participate in an Earth Day activity: the inaugural planting of the School Greenhouse with our students. We sincerely hope you will join us for this exciting event.

The Greenhouse was purchased by the Ishpeming Public School District through the 61S grant funding from the State of Michigan through the Eaton RESA, Michigan Department of Education. The Greenhouse and the Ishpeming Middle School Garden site are stewarded by Partridge Creek Farm.

The Greenhouse

The greenhouse was purchased by the Ishpeming Public School District (IPSD) as part of a 61S grant Funding from the State of Michigan through the Eaton RESA, Michigan Department of Education, for CTE (Career and Technical Education) classes and will be operated by the Applied Horticulture CTE class (called Flipping the Food System) as well as PCF. It will be used as a learning space and to steward healthy soil in order to grow food for the Ishpeming Middle/High School cafeteria.

  • Farm-to-School Program: Ishpeming Middle School 5th-6th graders learn about cultivating healthy soil in order to grow nutrient-rich food for their community in a way that benefits their ecosystem.

  • Healthy Cooking Program: Cooking healthy food is demystified for Ishpeming Middle School 5th-6th graders as they learn how to cook simple and delicious meals that meet their nutrition needs.

  • Garden Club: Open to 5th-8th graders. It takes place after school every Thursday during the growing season.

  • Farm-to-School Summer Camp: Open to rising 6th-9th graders. It will take place during the week of August 10th this summer.
