This season, the PCF welcomed three enthusiastic summer interns who brought fresh energy to our marketing and food access initiatives. Their hard work helped us feed our community and important information in fun, engaging ways. Thanks to their hard work, PCF was able to have another successful season of feeding the Ishpeming Community!

Farm Internship
The 2 2025 farm interns are Ishpeming High School Students in the LIFT UP (Locally Integrated Food Teams in the UP) program through teacher Melissa Meldrum’s English class.
After a semester of learning about the Community Farm in their english class and figuring out creative ways to educate their classmates about healthy food and helping to bring PCF produce into their cafeteria, they decided to work on the farm for 8 weeks from May-August!
These 2 interns helped plant and harvest food throughout their time with us. This food helped feed our community through the Farm Stand, donations to Salvation Army, CSA Members, and will go into the Ishpeming School Cafeteria to feed students in the fall!

Marketing Internship
This growing season Janelle joined the team to help PCF in their marketing efforts to reach more of our community to inform them on programming and affordable access to fresh food in their community.
Janelle created 17 weeks worth of healthy recipes using affordable ingredients that went out in a weekly email to our 2025 CSA Members. Janelle also helped to create fun and engaging social media content to help showcase the work PCF’s team is doing.
