Rock River Farm and Full Plate Farm Generously Donate Wash Pack Stations to PCF

Rock River Farm and Full Plate Farm graciously contributed two produce Wash Pack Stations to Partridge Creek Farm for use during its inaugural growing season at the Intergenerational Farm. These stations play a crucial role in supporting our farming operations at Partridge Creek Farm. Our dedicated team tends to the cultivation, harvesting, washing, and storage of food in accordance with rigorous food safety standards, ensuring quality produce for the community. These tents will greatly increase PCF’s abilities to provide and ensure our community is getting the best produce!

How The Wash Pack Stations Work

Was Pack Stations are used to wash produce according to FSMA standards and regulations to ensure all produce is clean and ready for the community!

First the produce is harvested by hand by the PCF growing team. It is then brought to the Wash Pack Station where is is thoroughly washed, dried, and then stored in our brand new produce cooler pictured in the photo on the left.

Supporting Our Community:

Partridge Creek Farm’s produce goes to help multiple channels within our community. Read more below.

  1. Community Members: Via PCF’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and weekly Farmstand. This year, the CSA has 30 families and many SNAP/EBT customers, highlighting PCF’s commitment to food security.

  2. School Cafeterias: Partnering with Chartwells Food Service and aiming to incorporate local produce into the Ishpeming School District's meals.

  3. West End Food Pantries and Organizations: Continuing the tradition of donating to those in need.

Farming and Helping One Another

Farming in the U.P. is no small feat and truly takes a village to have a successful growing season. Partridge Creek Farm appreciates our partnerships with fellow U.P. farmers, which allow us to support each other's growth and deliver locally sourced food to our communities. Together, we are dedicated to cultivating locally sourced food and nourishing our communities.

In 2024, PCF aims to grow and harvest 9,000 pounds of produce, significantly up from 2,000 pounds in 2023. These Wash Pack Stations will help PCF reach their goal for the community!
