Marquette County youth joined the 2026 Farm-to-School Summer Camp at the Partridge Creek Ishpeming Middle School Garden! This hands-on program invites 5thβ8th graders to get outside, dig into gardening, and learn through fun, garden-based activities.

These 8 summer camp participants learned more during the following activities:
Garden Shed Mural: Students helped paint a mural on the garden shed thanks to the expertise and guidance of Carol Phillips, artist.
Smoothie Bike: Students made smoothies using a bicycle with a blender that spins when students peddle!
Plant Identification/Foraging Wild Food: Participants learned more about plant identification in the garden. They also learned more about seed identification and how to read seed packets to help their garden thrive.
Cooking Lesson: Students cooked food they foraged from the Middle School Garden!
Community Farm Visit: Summer campers toured the Farm to see what our team was up to.
Block Printing on Clothing: The fun, final activity of Summer Camp was using various botanical block prints on t-shirts that campers could bring home with them!
